WORSHIP SERVICE 6TH JANUARY 2013
Our merciful Father has brought us into 2013 and we were blessed to worship on the first Sunday of the New Year. The highlight of the service was the commissioning of newly elected Baptist Youth Fellowship members for 2013. The pastor before blessing the 15 new members (8 present) spoke of the need for humility, patience and stoicism to be able to work effectively together for God’s work. The individual’s personal agenda has to take a backseat for a harmonious atmosphere when working as a group.
As a token of thanksgiving for their hard work and toil in the previous year our local chairman Pu Damsawmthang presented a small monetary gift to our Pastor V. Nenglian and caretaker Ginsuan. This was followed by a melodious special number by R.K.Puram (joint) prayer cell.
The theme of EBCC for this year is “Rise up and build!” In keeping with this motto, the pastor spoke of how human life is comparable to a race which we must run and the ultimate goal is an afterlife in paradise. We need to move forward and spiritually strengthen ourselves to be able to run this long winded, trial-ridden race of life. The Book of Hebrews shows how complacency can be the root cause of our weakness in being able to maintain a healthy spiritual relationship with God. The more we distance ourselves from Him the weaker we become. We need to constantly look towards Christ to nourish and sustain ourselves so that we are able to fruitfully and successfully run the race of life.
