Sunday Worship Service – 27 July 2014
Pastor opened the worship service by reading out Psalms 66:1-10
Then the worship team led the congregation in singing songs of praise. The Pastor dedicated the offerings to God.
Induction of nineteen new members by local secretary Upa Kamsuan. The Pastor welcomed and prayed for the newly inducted church members.
Report on “Project Nehemia- Zodawn Tour” was given by one of the volunteers Mr.Chinkhansiam Tunglut. The report was accompanied by a slideshow of photos from their tour.
Sermon:
God’s Elected and Chosen – “Let thy will be done on earth”
Scripture for reference taken from 1 Peter 1:1-2
This was addressed to the believers scattered outside Palestine by the Apostle Peter. Apostles are disciples of Christ who are also eye-witness to the death and resurrection of Christ.
This verse mainly highlights two things:
1.Who are the believers and, 2.What are the duties of the church/believers.
The believers are those who are elected by God. They are God’s chosen nation. Initially the Israelites were the only chosen nation but now even the gentiles which includes every one of us are also God’s elect. Those who are chosen according to the foreknowledge of God are those who are part of God’s plan and purpose.
Church wasn’t born because of the wisdom of man but because of God’s foreknowledge and act of the Holy Spirit.
We are God’s elected for the purpose of: To be obedient to Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with his blood.
We are connected to God through the blood of Jesus Christ.
The worship service was ended with a prayer by Upa Khamgoupau.
