SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE – LAVERAGING THE GOSPEL
29TH JUNE 2014
The worship service commenced with the Pastoral Prayer, giving thanks for the month that’s about to end and seeking blessings for the coming month. The Worship Team took the stage and let the congregation through a beautiful and melodious fellowship.
Prayer for offerings by Elder T. Kaithang is followed by facilitation of new members to the congregation. The Secretary, TBSUC introduced and welcomed the new members. The pastor \v. Nenglian prayed for each member and continued with Baby Dedication to the Lord. He also spoke about how EBCC does not accept Child Baptism in its doctrine. Baptism is for those who understand good and evil and in his right mind choose to accept Jesus Christ.
He thanked God for guiding us till the end of the month and spoke about leveraging the Gospel – Deut. 6:7
Spurgeon in his book “Students volume2 1889 page no.270”, talks about how children are taught to love Jesus but not believing in Him. Children understand Trust much before they could understand the concept of Love. So, accordingly they needed to be guided in that same sequence to create a strong foundation.
The three basic principles for teaching Gospel are:
- Trust – Psalm 123:1
- Love – Deut.6:5
- Obedience – John14:15
The service ended with a song “Simlei haksatna tuangnung siah le’ng” and Benediction by Elder Tuanmuanthang.
