The service commenced with a reading of Galatians 4: 6-7 and invocation of the Almighty by worship leader Thangkhanhau. After an uplifting praise & worship session, Upa Roumuan dedicated the offerings to the Lord and thereafter, highlighted the Joint Departmental Prayer Fellowship scheduled for 23 November 2024 from 2-5 PM.
The Call to Prayer was taken up by Upa Langkham who briefly spoke about the condition and plight of people back home. Reading out Psalms 108, he stressed the need to please God through our actions, seek forgiveness for our sins, give God praise and glory and submit to Him for deliverance and healing for our land. The congregation then engaged in mass prayer.
An announcement regarding Christmas and New Year celebrations was made by a member of the Christmas & New Year Committee who encouraged the congregation to contribute towards the celebrations in accordance with the joy in their hearts. He also apprised the congregation about the Donation box placed for the purpose and facility for giving contributions in installments. A beautiful special number from Upa Bial No. 1 (Pa Thangson & family) about the boundless love of God reminded the congregation about the meaning of Christmas.
November 23 being observed as Annual Sunday School Examination Day in EBC, Pastor Suankhanhau highlighted the spiritual implication by reminding the congregation that one day everyone will be facing a test before the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As written in 1 Corinthians 3:13, each person’s work will be revealed with fire and the fire will test the quality. Emphasizing on self examination on the efforts needed to grow in the knowledge of God as opposed to competing with others, he urged the congregation to introspect how their preparation for the examination has impacted their spiritual life.
Upa Thiankhanmuan dedicated the question papers and after pronouncing the benediction, the question papers were distributed commencing the annual exam.
