Worship leader Lianlalmuan read out John 6:53-56, Ephesians 1:7 and committed the Holy Communion Service to the Lord in prayer. In the spirit of the occasion, heartfelt praise and worship to the Almighty followed. Visiting Pastor (Retd) S. Thanglian dedicated the offerings.
Pastor Suankhanhau highlighted the Numei Camp to be held from 9-12 October 2024 encouraging the women members to participate in good number. He then welcomed the visitors/first timers to the church. At his behest, Sis Chiinpi working in FMPB gave a brief sharing and made prayer requests. Pastor urged the congregation to keep in mind the prayer points as well as the Numei camp, the condition back home, etc. and led the congregation in mass prayer.
Speaking on the topic ‘The Power of the Cross’, he said that the Cross is the centerpiece of the Christian faith and the foundation on which our faith rests. The Cross encompassed the wooden structure, the Lord Jesus Christ crucified on it and the place where He died to pay the price of the sins of all mankind. God’s power, righteousness and love are proclaimed on the Cross. The power of the Cross is manifested in eternal salvation and restored relationship with God; changed lives and victorious Christian life. God made His son Jesus who had no sin, to be sin for us so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. We have been redeemed from the bondage of sin to be with God in heaven. Christ’s death on the Cross brings forgiveness for our sins, eternal salvation and reconciliation with God. Through the power of the Cross, we have become a new creation. Christ triumphed over rulers and authorities, principalities and powers enabling us to lead a victorious life. He also urged the congregation to introspect whether the power of the Cross is working in their lives, emphasizing the need to take Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior so that the power of the Cross may be manifested in them.
Pastor then read out Scripture portion on the Lord’s Supper. Explaining the significance of the bread and the wine, he blessed them and the congregation prayerfully partake the Communion bread and wine.
Thereafter, the last hymn was sung and the service concluded with a benediction by pastor Lamkhanthang.
