The worship service started off with invocation of the Almighty and a reading of scripture portion from Galatians 6: 9-10 by Mr. Mang Hangsing. The worship team led the praise and worship session which was followed by dedication of the offerings by Elder N. Chinsum.
Reading from Psalm 73:28, Pastor T. Lamkhanthang led the mass prayer where he highlighted that we must draw near to the Lord. After this, he briefed the congregation on the upcoming weekday service for the month of October.
Pastor T. Lamkhanthang taught the Sunday school class for the day which includes chapter 21 & 22 (Galatians 5:13-26). Starting the lesson with a prayer, he initiated the teaching for the day from chapter 21. As Christians, we have been called to ‘Liberty’ but we must ensure that our liberty has boundary or else we might use our liberty as opportunity for the flesh (v13). Pastor then emphasized on the importance of love, as written in v14 it’s crucial that we must love our neighbors as ourselves because it is the fulfillment of the law; in the absence of love we are likely to devour and consumed one another (v15).
Pastor continued his class, teaching from Chapter 22; he read out all the morals sins written in Galatians 5:17-21, 22 and elaborated that possessing the fruit of the spirit can help avoid setbacks in life caused due to moral sins, because moral sins though pardoned by Jesus Christ, has consequences. Quoting from Romans 6:11 and Romans 13:8, Pastor concluded his class reminding the congregation that we must consider ourselves dead to sin but alive to God.
The Ministerial Committee made important announcements including the upcoming Youth Day for the month of October, reports regarding freshers who’ve moved to EBCC Dwarka Delhi for the month of September, the upcoming primary election for BYF Committee.
Led by the worship team the congregation sang together the last hymn and Elder T. Thiankhanmuan closed the service with a prayer and benediction.
