The worship service commenced with a reading of 1 Corinthians 1:30 and invocation of the Lord by worship leader Pauchinlian. After a joyous praise and worship, Elder Khamgoupau dedicated the offerings to the Almighty.
Pastor Suankhanhau Gualnam led the mass prayer. Reading from Proverbs 21:1, he listed down several prayer points; a soon to be conducted panel discussion on the topic ‘Victorious Christian Life’; the upcoming Dorcas camp; to call upon the Lord to relieve the plight of our people and our land. He also welcomed the first timers to the church. After the mass prayer, sister Shalomi Donngaihlian presented a heartfelt and evocative song.
The main speaker for this Sunday was Pastor Lamkhanthang who preached on the topic ‘3 Stages of Christian Life’ which was based on Romans 12. Emphasizing on the importance of having an impactful life to others permeated by Jesus Christ, Pastor Thang said The First Stage (Romans 12:1, 2) was to serve God and not the world by presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice to the God. For the Second Stage (Romans 12: 3 – 8) he said that each one of us are gifted with different spiritual gifts and we must cultivate and utilize our spiritual gifts for God’s ministry. The Third Stage (Romans 12: 9-21) as he mentioned, encompassed qualities a Christian must possess; be kind to one another with brotherly love, be fervent in spirit, we must be steadfast in prayer even in tribulations, we must be hospitable, be quick to forgive as forgiveness is a way of displaying God’s character, we must encourage others and be a peacemaker, be a fervid giver and we must overcome evil with good.
To conclude his sermon, Pastor read out from Philippians 3:12-14 exhorting the congregation to press on to be the embodiment of the qualities written in Romans 12.
The worship team led the congregation in singing the last hymn and Elder Khamkhanpau Guite ended the worship service with a prayer and benediction.
