Pastor Suankhanhau was the sermon speaker of the day. Genesis 6 was the main Bible verse of the sermon and ‘The true characteristics of being a father’ was the central theme. He mentioned that he continues to grow and learn to be a father with the help of others hence, it was still a learning process. Taking Genesis 6 as the primary example, he elaborated on Noah’s time as it appears that our current society is similar to the way the society was described during Noah’s time period. He highlighted that Noah was righteous in God’s eyes, fulfilling the will of God for men (Complete in His eyes) and walked with God like a friend. Noah therefore, is a testimony for all fathers. As he managed to keep his family protected and righteous in such a tumultuous and corrupt environment, it is possible for fathers of this day and age to do the same. The secret to Noah’s success stemmed from his unwavering determination and obedience in following God's commands and directions. The pastor concluded by encouraging fathers to recognize and fulfil their responsibilities and roles, and then prayed for all the fathers in the church.
As a special presentation, the TBCD gave out a small gift as a token of appreciation to all the fathers, emphasising that for children, their daddy was their superhero. Following them, the TBDC also distributed gifts to all the fathers, valuing the role of husbands as supporters and protectors.
The church service ended with another short session of worship and Elder H Kam Suanthang closed the service with a prayer.
