The worship team led the congregation in a spirit filled praise and worship and Elder Khamkhanpau Guite dedicated the offerings to the Almighty.
Pastoral Prayer for the month of May was led by Pastor T. Lamkhanthang and he read out Scripture portion from Romans 5:3-5 to the congregation.
Pastor T. Lamkhanthang was the main speaker for the day. He began by reading Scripture portion from Philippians 2:1-4. He gave a report on the PPFD (Pastor Prayer Fellowship Delhi) team’s trip from Delhi to Lamka. He first stated that the reason for the team’s visit to Lamka was because we, who were once united on 3rd May 2023 are no longer united, we are divided by nomenclature. It was only in Christ and through His love there is hope for unity among us, so using “Unity in Christ” as the theme, the team set off despite facing few setbacks.
Pastor Thang reported the PPFD’s journey from Delhi to Lamka as follows:
- 20thMay’24: The team reached Aizawl and were picked up by Dr. P.C Biaksiama and Mary Ngaihte. They were accomodated at Lazzo Hotel by the owner Dr. Varte. Later, in their clergy uniform they met Pu Lalduhoma, the Chief Minister of Mizoram, they gave the CM a memento, vote of thanks and a prayer. At around 6:00pm, the team attended a worship program led by the Joint Gospel Team who gifted a traditional bag to all the PPFD members. Frederick Lalrindika spoke on the topic ‘Unity in Christ’, Mizo gospel singer Lalzarmawia from Family Worship led the singspiration and a special song by Lalnunpuii Sailo. The day ended with supper sponsored by the CM.
- 21st May’24: The team reached Tuivai Bridge at around 5:30AM and held a mass prayer there. The PPFD team started their prayer walk from Sinzawl, Songtal, Mualnuam, Thuangtam, Lungthul, Bualzang, Suangdoh, Singat, Muallum, Phaiza and Mata where they were greeted and accompanied by the local church members in their village each. Pastor Thang commended the local churches for accompanying them despite being growing season for crops in the villages. The team reached EBCC Guest House, Lamka at 6:15pm.
- 22nd – 23rd May’24: The team handed out more than 78 invitation letters for Love Feast program to our local leaders and made invitations through phone calls.
- 24th May’24: Love Feast program was held at 2:00pm, 215 leaders attended the program. The team preached on how everyone must esteem and regard one another, subsiding one’s nomenclature to make room for love through Christ. They washed the leaders’ feet which brought many to tears and they hug one another.
- 25th May’24: They visited the Frontline and divided into three teams i.e Joshua (Kangvai to K. Gelzang villages), Caleb (Langza village) and Moses (Zalenkot village) They held a mass prayer with our Frontline volunteers and gave them rations. Pastor urged the congregation to keep our volunteers in our prayers.
- 26th May’24: As invited, the team attended the local churches of EBCC Vengnuam, EBCC Zion, EOC Hilltown, NTBC Bible Hill.
- 27th May’24: Fasting Prayer was held at noon, based on Jeremiah Rev. Nenglian took up the time. Speaking on the topic ‘God the Redeemer’ based on Genesis 6:2-8 Pastor L. Tongminthang took up the night-time service.
- 28th May’24: Fasting Prayer was held. At the night-time service Pastor Lalsiesang spoke on the topic ‘God the Protector’ based on Psalm 23.
- 29th May’24: Fasting Prayer continued, some confessed forgiveness. Speaking on the topic ‘God the Restorer’ based on Nehemiah Rev. L. Kamzamang Ngaihte took up the night-time service. Pastor K. Muanlal, Pastor Biakson, Pastor Suankhanhau and other gospel singers led the praise and worship sessions.
- 30th May’24: Taken from John 13:34, the PPFD team made a banner to be erected at New Lamka, Chengkon, New Bazar, Rengkai and Tuibuang.
- 31st May’24: Pastor Thang and few other members left for Aizawl and they met MLA H. Ginzalal briefly.
He thank the Almighty for His guidance beyond expectations throughout the whole journey, he also thank the congregation for their prayers and urged each one to remember them in their prayer for the follow-up program as well. Reading out from Nehemiah 2: 17, 18 he drew parallel from the times of Nehemiah and our society/land/people, our land is in ruin, our wall has fallen but we must rebuild our land through Jesus Christ. He closed his report with a prayer.
The praise and worship led the congregation in singing the last hymn and benediction by Elder Thangkhosiam Tonsing.
