The much awaited sermon of the day by Pastor T Lamkhanthang. He started with a prayer for all the mothers of the church.
The sermon is about responsibilities of each one of us. Mothers has responsibilities likewise we , sons and daughters also have responsibilities. As written in Ephesians, our responsibility is to honour our father and mother, and that will in turn makes our parents content.
Mother is not glad just because you give her the best food, buy her luxurious accessories, or a grand house but only we can make her glad when we take care of her with love and understanding.
Even though you are unable to provide her with the richness of this world, if you acknowledge the love , the sacrifices she has made for you, this will be the greatest gift you can give her.
As quoted by John Piper “A mother is a call to suffer.” Yes, a mother has endured pain and sufferings. 9 months she had carried you and had to bear pain giving birth. As you grow up, she prayed and did all she can just for you to become who you are today. We can only repay her back for all she has done only with deep love and affection but without these it is never possible. Nothing can compare to a mother’s love for her children.
When we faced downfall, the heart of our mother hurts the most.We are the heartbeat of our mother. Our mother suffers when we suffer. But if you follow the good path, that will make your mother pleased.
Let us all make a decision this afternoon to end the sufferings and pain of our mother.
Some are without a mother, let us never forget we still have God whose love has been greater than the love of a mother. A mother’s love can be conditional but God’s love is unconditional.
You may experience all types of love from family or from fellow beings but if we do not experience the love of God, it is never complete. The love from Jesus Christ is abundant, unconditional and unceasing. We all need this love from God. We must all experience this love of God. The pastor ended his sermon by praying for all those persons who are in need to experience the love of God, the greatest love of all. Amen.

Closing prayer by Elder Chinsum.
