Ordained elder Zabiak read out Luke 24:5 and committed the worship service to the Lord in prayer. After an uplifting praise and worship session, he dedicated the offerings to the Lord.
In a call to prayer, Pastor Suankhanhau read out Isaiah 59:1-4 and urged the congregation to seek forgiveness for their sins, protection from having to worship idols and for God’s righteous rule on the earth. The mass prayer was followed by a special number by the worship team.
The theme for the sermon was ‘The truth about the Resurrection of Christ’. Pastor said that though denied by some people, the resurrection of Christ is an undeniable truth and is the foundation of the Christian faith. Reading from 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, he explained that Christ’s resurrection is according to the Scriptures which Paul affirmed. The resurrected Lord appeared to Cephas, the disciples, more than 500 people, James, to all the apostles and also to Paul himself. In expounding the importance of Christ’s resurrection, Pastor also highlighted how the resurrection proclaims the truth of the Scriptures, the truth about what Jesus testified of Himself, the hope that it brings and the power of the resurrection - victory over death, victory over sin and power to change lives. He mentioned how Christ’s resurrection has changed the lives of James, Paul and more recently, the life of Lee Strobel. Pastor then challenged the congregation to examine themselves whether the risen Lord has changed their lives. While concluding the sermon, he made a point for introspection that those who received the risen Christ as their Lord and Savior, would have their lives changed.
Thereafter, induction of 36 new members to the church followed. The congregation then rose and sang the last hymn and the Worship Service concluded with prayer and benediction by ordained elder Roumuan.
