Worship leader N. Thangkhanhau read out Psalms 7:7 and commit the worship service to the Lord. After an uplifting praise and worship session and collection of offerings, ordained elder Thiankhanmuan dedicated the offerings to the Lord.
Pastor Suankhanhau welcomed the first timers and visitors to the church service. After making some announcements, he led the congregation in mass prayer for Manipur.
Sermon was taken up by Evangelist Damkhothang who came as speaker for the Papi la Bible camp scheduled for 24-26 August, 2023. Introducing the theme for the camp ‘Will you be taken up (raptured)?’ taken out from 1 Thessalonians 4:17, he asked the congregation whether they are sure of their salvation. He mentioned some points for introspection– ‘Are you subject to the righteousness of God?’ (Romans 10:1-3); ‘Are you thinking you are saved through your good works?’(Acts 10:1-2) and ‘Are you only calling on the name of the Lord and not doing the will of God?’ (Matthews 7:21-23). He said that right Christian living entails being born again first which should be followed by worship/fellowship with God and good works, changed lives and ultimately serving God.
Speaker also mentioned three important questions that believers should be able to answer to be sure that they have eternal life (1 John 5:13) – when, where and how they met the Lord. He took the examples of Paul, Nicodemus and the woman from Samaria in the scriptures who were very sure of the time, place and how they encountered the Lord.
In conclusion, Speaker said that the second coming of Christ which is the rapture, is very near. Jesus is coming soon. It is, therefore, imperative to be sure of our salvation for our name is written in the Book of Life the moment we are born again.
Announcements by the Secretary, TBUC followed. One important point is allotting the morning worship service to those who have Sunday school going children. The rest of the congregation are to attend the afternoon worship service.
After the last hymn was sung, ordained elder Chinsum made a brief announcement about the Papi la Bible camp and closed the worship service with a thanksgiving prayer.
