Worship leader N. Thangkhanhau read out Psalms 118:23-24 and commit the worship service to the Lord. After an uplifting praise and worship session, ordained elder G. Khamkhanpau dedicated the offerings.
Pastor Dr Suankhanhau read out Matthew 11:28-30 and introduced the theme for his sermon ‘Rest in Jesus’. He explained that ultimate rest is in Jesus Christ. Sometimes, we may be squeezed from all sides by the burdens of life. We may grow weary and faint from the toils and cares of this world or we may have experienced physical, emotional and spiritual weakness where our soul long to find rest. In such situations, Jesus can give us rest. He called us to come to Him; take His yoke and learn from Him. To take His yoke is to place all our burdens upon Him and He will carry it for us. It also means walking in tandem with Him, being guided and directed by Him and giving Him first priority in our lives. Pastor also talked about the need to learn humility and obedience from Jesus. Lastly, he urged the congregation to heed the call of Jesus to come to Him and find rest for their souls.
Pastor Lamkhanthang welcomed the first timers to the church and invited the congregation to join the Joint BYF worship programme from 2 to 4 PM. He then dedicated baby Chinglawmsang d/o B. Paukhanthang and Vungzamawi and baby Ethan Khumlallian s/o Zammuanthang Nunthuk and Chinghoihkim to the Lord.
Induction of 19 new members to the church followed. Pastor Dr Suankhanhau prayed for the new members.
The Worship Service ended with a benediction by ordained elder Chinsum.
