Pa Thangson opened the worship service in prayer. The worship team led the congregation in an uplifting praise and worship session and ordained elder T. Songzalian dedicated the offerings to the Lord.
Pastor Lamkhanthang welcomed Pastor Sharma from Nepal and other first timers to the church. He thanked God for Nu Vungngaihniang for completion of 30 years of Government service and offering tea and snack for the congregation as a thanksgiving to God.
Going into the text of the scripture portion for the Bible study on 2 Corinthians 1 (Lessons 2&3), Pastor Lamkhanthang started with Paul’s introduction of himself as an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God and his benediction that the grace and peace of God and the Lord Jesus Christ be upon them all. He talked about the God of all comfort and how God comforts us so that we, in turn, can comfort others. He also explained Paul’s longings to visit the Corinthian church but had to postpone it and his defense of himself and his ministry. Important points highlighted during the Bible study are as under:-
· God wants to use our experiences including the hardships and sufferings we face to touch others and be a channel of blessings to them.
· Hardships and sufferings in life are not a curse. They are means to experience the comfort, grace and peace of God.
· When your plans fail, God’s plan is still there. Allow God’s plan to work for it’s the best plan.
· God will give us peace even in the most difficult circumstances if we trust Him.
· The indwelling of the Holy Spirit in us will help us to stand firm in Christ.
Dedication of baby Lunmalsawm Samte (s/o Lalboi Samte and Vungneihmoi) followed.
The Worship Service ended with a benediction by ordained elder H. Zabiak.
