Reading a Bible verse from the book of Isiah 54 : 10, the worship leader had a prayer that follows
with giving praise to the Lord in the form of singing.
Pastor T Lamkhanthang in his speech said that 2Corinthians 2:3 is about for those who with bad
manners to rebuke them. Also Paul mention why he post his visit to the church of Corinthians. In
verse 4 Apostle Paul wrote about the difficulties that he face to rebuke them, and wanted to let
them know the depth of his love for them. The pastor said rebuking someone is not a pleasant thing
neither hurting them is, rather it should be motivated by love. Such is the reason why love should be
the guiding factor to make someone better. Verse 5 talk about the grief that Paul had, it also
affected the other to some extent. Likewise it is a shame to all the church member when one does a
shameful thing, giving a punishment is much more enough(verse 6). In verse 7, Paul reminded them
that it is their duty to forgive and comfort him in return. The speaker says to the Elders it is their
duty to rebuild the one whom they had condemn so that they may return and follow the good ways
and not fall into the trap of the devil. In verse 9 Paul wanted them to follow his word and obey God
so that a good result can be witness in their conduct. In verse 10 Paul remind them that he is the
caretaker of the church and going hand in hand with the church. In verse 12 Paul went to Troas but
had no peace of mind because he didn’t see Titus (verse 13), so he left for Macedonia. This verse
remind us that Paul too was a human being and he too was discouraged at some point said the
pastor, he also told us what his teacher (Simon Sundar) said in his lecture ‘Don’t quit, move on the
shepherd king is always there for you, don’t quit. Don’t quit, the future hope is also there’. We
should not backdown, even thought there might be difficulties within our family whether be it our
children or in our Christian life but the greatest shepherd is always among us and there is still hope
in the eternal life and our crown is waiting for us so we should not quit on our faith but keep on
moving said the speaker in an exhorting manner. Verse 14 shows how Paul had imagine himself and
compare to those of the people standing along the way of the triumphant king(Jesus) spreading
aroma to celebrate the victory over his enemy just like the Roman kings. Our pastor told us that
when we talk about the gospel to others we are spreading the aroma for God. Here the question is
he said, how many time do we spread the aroma for Christ? He continued to share the experience
that he had recently, one in the hospital and the other with an auto driver. Here, what he wanted us
to know is about spreading the Gospel to other, he also said that we can be that spark to introduce
Jesus Christ in someone life. So it is important for us to let Christ shine through us irrespective of
what we are and in whatever we do. In verse 15 Paul after saying that they are the one who spread
the aroma they themselves are the aroma too, is what he really wanted to say. Vearse 16 can be
pictured as that roman kings and his follower walking at the tail of the line while the defeated king
and his follower walking in the front, everyone of them heard the smell of the aroma but to the
defeated it is the smell of fear in their mind whether they will be killed or kept as captive. Such is the
reason why Paul said to some they are the aroma of death while to some they are the aroma of life.
Continuing with the same verse, our speaker talk about the task of such pleasing aroma for our God,
no one is enough for such task but it is important not to forget the grace of God who qualify us with
his love. Verse 17 talk about business, fake apostle claim themselves above the real product but Paul
claimed that he serve the lord with sincerity and not ashamed of the gospel (Romans 1:16). It is
important to spread the gospel as it is, it is not about advertising as the best. Sometimes we claimed
as not enough for such task but the question is are we ignoring it? Said the speaker. The gospel is
like a dynamo that can do wonderful things, you nor me can’t do a thing but it is the word of the lord
that does things that is why Paul said that with sincerity we serve the Lord not like those who do it
for profit said the speaker.
With this he ended his lecture with a prayer and after that he gave a short brief about the upcoming
camp that will take place in the month of may at the same time he invited all the mass to take part
in this event. He also added a prayer point for us i.e about two different crusade that will be
conducted this year .
The last song for the day was leaded by the worship team and closing prayer by anointed Elder T
Roumuan.
