The worship team led the congregation in an uplifting praise and worship session and ordained elder Kam Suanthang dedicated the offerings to the Lord.
Pastor Lamkhanthang gave praise to the almighty for the Holy Communion service and welcomed the visitors to the church. Thereafter, he reminded the congregation that the Lord’s Supper is the central doctrine of the Christian faith. Reading out 1 Corinthians 1:23, he introduced the theme for his message- wonderfully saved. He explained that the word ‘wonderful’ in the Scripture is used to describe things which are beyond human understanding and comprehension. Human beings are wonderfully and fearfully made. The manner in which we are knitted together in our mother’s womb is beyond our comprehension. How we are spiritually born again, saved spiritually is also God’s amazing work. His way of salvation for our souls is beyond our wildest thoughts.
In the Scripture quoted above, ‘Christ’ denoting ‘anointed’ and symbolizing power and authority and ‘crucified’ are not compatible at all to the human mind as the cross is a symbol of shame, humiliation and defeat. The Jews regarded Jesus as their savior from the oppressive rule of the Romans and God’s plan for their spiritual salvation was far beyond their comprehension. The sacrifice of our Lord and Savior is far beyond what the human mind could conceive. Pastor then asked the congregation to reflect on what they have given the Lord who gave His all for them. He posed the question – ‘Are we faithful and true to God?’ ‘How much of ourselves have we given to Him?’ ‘Have we loved Him and served Him wholeheartedly?’ As the congregation prepares to partake the Lord’s supper, he invited everyone to commit themselves to the Lord in a deeper way by giving Him what He wants from them.
Thereafter, pastor read out the words of Jesus at the Last Supper, blessed the bread and wine and gave thanks. The congregation prayerfully partook the Lord’s Supper together, the bread first and then the wine.
Pastor Khankham dedicated baby Kimmuanching d/o David Damthankhum and Ngaibiakmoi to the Lord and made an announcement regarding worship programme of the Delhi Revival Crusade team organized by Pastors Prayer Fellowship on 22 and 23 November 2022 at the church.
The Worship Service ended with thanksgiving prayer by ordained elder Ngulminthang.
