# TBSUC Chairman presented the missionary day message. He also introduced Rev Paununsang, Field Superintendent, Dhemaji, who will deliver a sermon today.
# He also announced that a brochure of spreading the Gospel as part of the Tentmaking initiative is also printed, and members must take up this initiative. He remarked that this is a follow up to the earlier seminar on the tent-making initiative. This initiative aims to spread the Gospel to friends and colleagues who have not been exposed to the word of God.
Sermon by Rev Paununsang
Acts 16:6 – 10 and Matthew 28:18 are selected as the theme for the sermon.
We can celebrate Missionary day as someone had come to us in the 1910s, just like we are reaching out to the lost in our mission fields. He highlighted how grateful we are to be part of the work of mission. The mission must keep going on as it is the life and soul of our faith and relationship with God.
Even in the Dhemaji field, the missionaries are scattered across the state, and there are many challenges with language and cultures. Their efforts and dedication to learning the Mising language for spreading the word of God continue to inspire and challenge our very faith. God can carry out the work of the Gospel even without us. We should realise that it is a privilege and honour for us to participate in God’s work in whatever capacity we are doing now. Born again Christians are required to do the work of mission and this will bear the fruit.
The message we want to carry home is where each one of us is required to spread the word of God? The tent-making initiative is a step in the right direction. We should take this up. Whatever small work we may do, we should not stop and keep on going. We must shine the light for the Lord on friends, colleagues and relatives. Doing and serving others is the work of Mission. We should strive to excel in our missionary work across the mission fields in the country.
# Closing song “Mang Nasep a Kul” was sung.
# Benediction by Elder T Thiankhanmuan
