The 2 PM Worship Service began with prayer by Pa Sumthanlian from the Missions Committee. The worship team led the congregation in praise and worship to the Almighty God. Thereafter, ordained elder L. Ngulminthang dedicated the offerings.
Welcoming the congregation on the second day of the Missionary Day Programme, Pastor G. Khankham announced that the church would be having Thanksgiving Programme on the last Saturday and Sunday of June 2022 to commemorate 30 years of EBCC Delhi and requested the congregation to pray for the success of the programme.
Pa Lianlalmuan introduced Missions Brochure brought out by EBC Headquarters so that church members can pray for the missionaries. He informed the congregation that around 120 families/individuals from EBCC Delhi are currently supporting the missionaries. Distribution of pledge card followed. Thereafter, the BYF presented a special number.
Rev. T. Paununsang, Field Superintendent, Dhemaji Mission Field read out Acts 16:23-33 and I Corinthians 9:16 and briefly explained the passage. Paul had gone over to Macedonia in response to the calling of God. At Phillipi, he and Silas were thrown into the inner prison with their feet in chains. However, the gospel cannot be chained and Paul preached the gospel even in prison. As a result, the jailer and his family got saved. The time and place to do God’s work is ‘every time’ and ‘everywhere’ as clearly seen in how Paul made use of every means and opportunity to preach the gospel. Preaching the gospel is a command given by the Lord. We can touch His heart and please Him if we wholeheartedly involve ourselves in missions. This is also the right time. We have fallen into decadence in all areas and He will restore us if we can touch His heart through missions.
Paul had a strong desire to preach the gospel and the Holy Spirit led him. If we have the same desire, He will lead us too. What is your Macedonian calling? It may be through urban ministry, witnessing in the workplace, through giving, prayer or encouraging the missionaries. It is never too late to begin mission work. In fact, we retire only when we die. And we are not after the first prize in mission work. Neither are we in competition with anyone. The important thing is to be involved. Unlike the ways of the world where we have no role after retirement, the Lord will receive what we do for Him in our lifetime and afterwards, receive us to glory.
Rev. Sang also reminded the congregation that we should not boast even if we do much work for God. Mission work is to be done in a true spirit of humility like the apostle Paul who said that he has no right to boast even if he preach the gospel. He also exhorted the congregation to be excellent and to give their best in what they do for God. The God of Glory, the LORD of hosts deserves the best. Lastly, he invoked the blessings of God so that we will become humble, be an encourager and an instrument to bring change in the lives of others.
Pastor Lamkhanthang closed the Missionary Day Programme and spoke a blessing over the congregation.
