Sermon : Pastor G. Khankham
Topic: People who are forgiven and their relationship with God.
(Psalms 91: 15- He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will deliver him and honour him).
- The forgiven children of God usually face challenges especially in their faith .Some examples from the Bible are- Job, Daniel, Sadrach, Mesach, Abednego, and Joseph.
- Job was someone whom God boasted about to satan, yet God allowed him to be afflicted at the worst. Even his wife questioned his God and told him to give up, yet he did not waver in his faith. He rather called on the Lord and God blessed him the double of all his loss (Job 2:3, Job 42:12). Sadrach, Mesach and Abednego vowed not to worship the idol and Daniel did not stop praying to the Lord of Israel. They called on the Lord and he answered and delivered them. (Daniel 3: 16-18, 24,25, Daniel 6: 10, 16, 22). Joseph was betrayed by his own brothers as well as tempted by his master’s wife, and yet he did not sin against the Lord and thus the Lord was with him (Genesis 39:2, 21).
- As Psalms 91: 15 says, the Lord answers those who call upon him and delivers them from their troubles. Not only does God answer and deliver them, he also honours them in the sight of man. This was right in the lives of the people discussed above. This is the heritage and priviledge of the forgiven children of God and therefore let us stand fast in the one who forgives us and calls us his children.
Last Worship song : It is well with my soul ( Bnl.no. 111).
The service was wrapped up with a closing prayer by Elder Tuanmuanthang.
