Speaker: Pastor Thuamminlian Guite on “Faithful Steward: On living out the Gospel in both words and deeds”
I Timothy 4:11-16
- While many argue that faith is personal, it is imperative that Christians must live by an example. (Luke 9:26)
- There are dozens of ways to model godliness in our daily activities, but deeper than all is the act of living out the Gospel in words and deeds. We can speak about Christ, and reflect him in our lives.
- Being a Christian is less about attending Church and more about living one’s life for and like Jesus.
- The most powerful testimony we can show to others is that of a true, Spirit-filled life everywhere and anywhere we are- at work and at play. Our speech, conduct, faith, purity, etc. can cause others to ask about faith and pave the path for the Gospel to be shared. (I Peter 3:1, I Corinthians 9:27, I Timothy 4:11-12)
- Read the Holy Bible with understanding. For Christians, the Holy Bible is a guide for life as well as an indispensable vantage point for morality. (I Timothy 4:13)
- Each of us has been given spiritual gifts that must be cultivated and employed for God’s kingdom. We must be faithful stewards of God’s gifts. (I Timothy 4:14, I Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4:12)
- God wants us to proclaim our faith by what we are and what we do- to live out the Gospel so that people will see Jesus in us. To share about Jesus’ credibility requires living an authentic Christian life- a life that exemplifies our belief in and commitment to Christ. (I Timothy 4:15-16)
