Faithful Keeper of Position
~ Pastor G. Khankham
Being eldest among siblings, elder, position in different departments of the church etc. is not by choice, cannot be bought or chosen. Let’s ask ourselves if anyone is hurt by us being in this position, your siblings, your father or mother, or will God be hurt by choosing you as an elder. Being in this position, how should we proceed?
Ephesians 4:7; Ephesians 4:711-16
What you are by birth, what you’ve chosen and what you’ve been entrusted not by choice, how can you be faithful keeper of this position. As an example, we Pastors apply and need to get 2/3 votes to be selected. However, being born a male or female cannot be chosen.
Referring back to the scripture above, we cannot say if you’d be an apostle, a prophet etc. This is not our choice but chosen by God. Being a Pastor, we have to take along everyone and it’s not an easy task to accomplish. Being a teacher, we need to know that we teach right, we speak out to the extent of what we are expected and if we speak right.
Jesus is the head of the church. You and I are entrusted to hold up the church and we all should be aware of what role we play.
To build the kingdom of Christ:
- Oneness in faith
- Know the Son of God
- To grow up and attain completeness in the body of Christ
- Not be swayed and be mature
- Speak truth with love
Grow in everything with Jesus being the head, held together by every supporting ligament. When every part does it work as they are designed for, the body grows built on love. You are not small, you are not meek.
