Walking in Truth and Love (2 John 4-6)

What is Truth?
In today’s world, there are some who believe that there is no Absolute Truth but only Relative Truth which is in accordance with Situational Ethics. What is right for something/someone may not necessarily be right for another. But according to the Holy Bible, Truth or otherwise the Absolute Truth is the Person of Jesus Christ (John 1:14, John 8:3, John 14:16, 17:17). What human beings perceive as truth/right is not the Truth the Bible talks about. On the trial of Jesus, Pilate asked Jesus, “What is truth?” after Jesus explained much to him about the Truth (John 18:37,38a).
What is Love?
The Holy Bible clearly mentions that God is love (1 John 4:7-21). Love is a commandment. We are to love God with all our hearts, souls, strength, life etc., and to love our neighbours (Matthew 22:36-40; Mark 12:28-34; Luke 10:27). If we love Him, we have to obey and keep His commands (John 14:15).
Conclusion:
Let ‘Walking in Truth and Love’ be the foundation of our Christian life. There is a great difference between knowing the truth and walking in the truth. Do we know Jesus (Truth)? Yes, but do we walk in Him (Truth)? It is often difficult to answer. If we walk in Him (Truth) we will surely love Him. One cannot see God but we can show our love for Him by loving one another.
