Roslyn Kimbuang Zo, in her short sharing, recalled how she was convinced by the Lord to start spreading His Gospel in the villages. When she asked the Lord for a friend, God gave her a companion in an old-aged woman with whom she started ministering along the Burma border. It was when she began to set out in obedience to God, she started experiencing the real freedom of being in Jesus Christ. She said she did not have any talent in preaching but when God anointed her, she was provided with the message by God himself.
Referring to John 14:17, she highlighted how the Church today accepts God and Jesus according to the Bible but is reluctant to invite the Holy Spirit to work as an advocate for them in front of God. She elaborated and said that, when you invite the Spirit to reside in you, it operates through God's Grace in and through you and that you would be disturbed by anything that went against His will, thereby leaving your past sins behind and completely changing your life. Everyone is free to ask God to give them the Holy Spirit and He will give it to you. We only need to ask (Matthew 7:7).
Sis Rosyln continued, saying "When I speak out the truth about the religion-oriented churchdom prevailing in our society, some people, even the church leaders, came out hugging me with tears of agreement to it". Sis Roslyn's special praise number "Pakpalh zu bang" - really inspired the audience through the lyrics, her heartfelt singing and the melody of her God gifted voice.
Message was delivered by Pastor Thuamminlian Guite with Isaiah 6:1-9 as the basis. Some points are noted as below:
1. Isaiah preached before & after he heard God's voice. But, the difference in his preaching after he saw God is our main focus.
2. Before he saw God, he saw the Israelite's sins and immoral lives and condemned their actions. But when he heard and saw God, he saw himself, and he saw how unclean he was.
3. What hinders us from seeing God? Isaiah was hindered by his earthly king, King Hezekiah, from seeing God. This is why it was only in the year King Hezekiah died that he saw God and in turn, himself. In your case, it could be anything, like your wisdom, your money, your power, your status in society or any sins that keeps you under bondage. If you want to see God, you must let the thing blocking you from God, die.
4. Even the Pastors, are fallible in this area. Pastorship is not our identity, but our profession. Our true identity is that we are a saved sinner. If we don't see God we can't see ourselves.
5. After he met God, Apostle Paul confessed he was not only a sinner but even the worst of all. Thus, the closer you grow to God, the more clearly you see yourself. The more you see God, the more you realise your sinful nature.
6. To believe in Christ is different from merely knowing about Him. Many Christians today have knowledge of salvation (i.e. knowing Jesus died on the cross for us and believing it) but real faith in salvation, that causes a person's life to transform, is very rarely seen. What did Apostle Paul mean when he says in Romans 10:9 "You will be saved if you believe in Christ"? At that time Rome was under an Emperor (an era of Emperor Worship). It was a question of life and death to confess Jesus is King instead of Ceasar. So, in their context, to believe demands the willingness to sacrifice one's own life.
7. A clear vision of God causes one to see oneself very clearly which results in a life transformation.
8. Just being able to read or having the knowledge of what is written on the road signs does not make us reach our destination, but believing it and following its direction make us reach our destination. So also our mere knowledge about Christ alone would have little effect in experiencing God in our lives. We need to have FAITH in God. As we walk on the road to heaven, the road signs tell us which direction heaven is in. Let us be careful to not ignore them and attempt to follow them successfully, with full faith in God.
