Speaker: Pastor Tuanglang

The Pastor commence by saying that the Holy Communion might be the last for this year and he continued by saying how blessed the congregation is by being present for this occasion. His sermon focused on “being faithful till the end” based on the lives of the one who commanded us to observe the holy communion, Jesus Christ. The pastor read out bible verses from the scripture:

John 6:38

For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me

John 4:34

My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work

Revelation 2:10

…..Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown

John 13:1

It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end

Matthew 10:22

You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

John 19:30

When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit

The Pastor continues by saying it is important to start right, to continue right and to finish or end right by emphasising on the work of God through Jesus Christ. If it weren’t for the work of God because of his love for us, being faithful to his calling, we would not have been here where we are. Since God is love, he showed his love for us through his only begotten son Jesus Christ whom he loves so much by sending him to earth. So as a believer we must step out of our comfort zone if needed to do the will of God. If God is to act according to his comfort and convenience he would not have sent his son. But for us he did what is right and also remained faithful by finishing his work. So by repenting and accepting Jesus as our saviour by faith we begin as a believer but we have to continue with faith and be faithful till the end. Just as Jesus continues the will of God and overcome all the temptation from Satan, we must also continue to remain faithful by feeding on the word of God so that we do the will of God just as Jesus said in John 4:34.Satan deceived Jesus at Gethsemane garden so that he could not fulfil the will of God. Jesus prayed to God “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.”God knows all our difficulties in life. He wants us to be faithful till the end by not falling into trap of Satan and to remain faithful till the end by doing the will of God.
