Short sharing by Upa Damsawmthang regarding the working and functions of Bible society. He exhorted the youth to complete the reading of the bible at least once. He ended his speech by distributing the bible society pledge card.

The pastor commence by sharing how blessed we are to have bible in our own language. There are four versions of paite bible till now. He further shared that the works of bible society is one of the most important ministerial works in serving God.He stated the worldwide status of bible translation. Among 7000 languages which are known to be used today, more than 600 language have complete translated bible.Paite bible is among the 600 to have a complete translated bible.
Ebcc and bible or bible society
-with the initiatives of Bible Society of India (BSI), the paite bible was first published in 1971.
-in 2004 paite bible was printed with the help of Bible International India Society (BIIS)
-currently in collaboration with 2 bible society
BSI version is where we have started with the bible and it is simpler. While BIIS version is for those willing to take a further step in studying the bible. The pastor says that by referring to both, the bible will be much clearer.
A. Why is the bible distinct?
-god breathed (2 tim 3:16)
-writers were moved by Holy Spirit (2 pet 1:21)
-written for a time span of 1500 years by more than 40 men with various occupations and professions
-written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek and compiled as one book
- Consistent and coherent from Genesis to Revelation without any conflict in text.
-the most translated ,printed and published book in the world
B. how is the bible useful?
-can change people’s live as it is written in Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart
-for spiritual growth
-to fight the enemy,bible is the armour of God to withstand in the evil day as is written in Ephesians 6:13-17
-to guide and lead us as is written in psalms 119:105 “thy word is alamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”
-for prosperity and success (Joshua 1:7, 8)
-useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 tim 3:16)
The pastor concluded his speech by questioning the congregation where each one stands in using their bible and their contributions towards the bible society in spreading the word of God. He exhorted to not only read the bible but know and follow it.
