He talks about the importance of being chosen by God, its privilege and not to forget the responsibility. He committed to the Lord with words of prayer.
Today’s sermon by the Pastor was based on the theme, “Fight the good fight of faith”, taken from 1 Timothy 6:11-22. Being a believers we should never forget that we are fighting battles or else we shall be defeated and it will eventually led to depression, loneliness, defeated and dissatisfaction, shameness and so on..Fighting the good fight of faith is about:-
1. Maintaining our faith- How many times your faith is tested? How many times you were able to protect you faith out of being tested? Being a believers, fighting the good fight of faith is about maintain and protecting our Faith on God. It is not based on manpower but letting God be the guiding force against the battle. With whatever circumstances you should be able to say that, “God it is your will” as Jesus prayed to God in the garden of Gethsemane. The cup that Jesus asks to be taken from him is the cup of God’s judgment against sinners. Here is why the son of God judgement began to be sorrowful and troubled. It is not at the pain and death that Christ flinches. But still he prayed that “as your will”. Your situation is never hopeless when you follow his will. Follow the roadmap that God set for you. Submit yourself to God, His love will comfort you in your pain and his peace will help you as you begin your journey with him. When we are against the will of God it often led to depressions, loneliness, troubles and sorrows and there is no contentment in life. God may allow you to experience difficulties but we should put our faith on him. Faith is the gift of God. How far do you thrust him, belief him and put your faith to God? Thus, faith is what brings about and replaces the feelings of worries, inadequacy, fear, confusion and pain.
2. Fighting the good fight is about leaving behind what God is against with:- In 1 Timothy 6: 9- 10 it is written that, “9. People who want to get rich will fall into temptation and a trap into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” And in 1 Timothy 6:6 it is written that, “But Godliness with contentment is great gain.” So what do you consider your life fulfillment or contentment? Is it complete with God or is it based on your friendship or money? Everlasting fulfillment and contentment comes only through God. If your contentment with God is block or if it is against the wishes of God you should immediately clear it and remove it.
Thus, a good fight in faith is about:-
1. Maintaining your faith
2. Leaving behind what God is against with.
Pastor concluded with words of prayer.
