Thuamsiam on behalf of the Baptist Children’s Department, welcome the members of the church for the graduation day. Sunday offering was collected and Elder Chinsum praise and thank God for the offering. A song was presented by the little ones of BCD. BCD superintendent Thangson took over to introduce the graduating students of BCD (Senior batch). There were eight of them, as their proud parents looked on with pride, their biography, interests and aspirations were read out. Some wanted to be a professor, a rockstar, an IAS officer, have a successful career, to follow in the footstep of one’s father, to serve God.
This Sunday in keeping with the occasion, the pastor emphasized on the fact that besides attaining physical maturity (turning 18) one should also be spiritually mature in words and in deeds. Maturity in terms of attaining the legal age of marriage, having the license to drive and other worldly benefits should not be the only ones that one should aspire to, he encouraged graduating students to be faithful Christians and also reminded the adult congregation members to lend a helping hand in their spiritual growth.
Local Chairman, G. Damsawmthang congratulated the graduating batch on behalf of the congregation. The pastor prayed for them so that they continue in the path of truth and faith. Local Secretary, Elder Kamsuanthang announced the newly elected members of Baptist Youth Fellowship. The church service concluded with a benediction by Elder Thiankhanmuam.
The second session was exclusively for BCD’s Annual Day cum Music Festival. The BCD teachers led the congregation in praising the lord with gospel songs and a special performance by them brought so much joy to the whole congregation especially to the children. . It was very impressive to see the pool of musical talent that the BCD showcased. It was heartening to see so many students performing well in the Sunday school classes in terms of getting full attendance, scoring full marks in the final exam. Each batch, starting from beginner A to the senior batch had an award for “Student of the Year”, which was deservingly given to the best all round performing student.
What a memorable day it was.
