EBC, Delhi observed Easter Sunday on Sunday, the 8th April, 2012 to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his crucifixion.
2. Pastor V.Nenglian read the Scripture and dedicated the service to the Lord. Praise & Worship was led by the Worship Team of EBCC, Delhi. The Congregation praised the Good Lord through hymns such as “Hankhuk Sung ah Lum hi” (Biakna Late #228) and “Ava Kikhum Bang” (Biakna Late #435). As the third hymn “Hatlou in ka hat chi hen” was sung, the congregation rose and this was followed by the Mass Prayer. After the Mass Prayer, “Aw, Vanglianpen” (Pathian Ngaihla #1) was sung during which the ushers collected the offerings. Upa Damsawmthang, the Local Chairman, had the Offertory Prayer.
3. Upa Kamsuanthang, the Local Secretary informed the members of the deliberations of the Tualsung Baptist Saptuam Upa Committee (TBSUC) meeting held on the 7th April, 2012:

- ·Miscreants broke the glass of the church’s car and stole the stereo tape and an unsuccessful attempt was made to break into the caretaker’s home. He asked the Members to pray for the protection of the church’s property and its workers.
4. Baptist Youth Fellowship (BYF) Choir Group, sang the hymn “Halleluiah”. The Pastor then welcomed and thanked the congregation for coming to the Easter Sunday Worship Service. He said that we are a blessed lot to have been resurrected in Christ through his death and resurrection. His theme for the day was “He (Jesus) has risen” and read out Matthew 28:1-10. He opined that there is no greater change and said that this is greater than change in our character, opinion, ideas, career, etc.
5. He briefly dwelled on his Easter Sunday messages of 2010 and 2011 and stated that in 2010 he spoke on the “Significance of Christ’s Resurrection”. His resurrection signifies:
1. Divinity of Christ. His resurrection proves that Jesus is God.
2. Zenith/Climax of redemption.
3. Basis of faith for believers
6. Some people cast aspersions on the resurrection of Jesus saying that it is a myth, while some others say that it never happened and that resurrection is against the law of nature. While another group believes that it might have happened, but that it has no significance as of today.
7. In 2011, he spoke about the “Gifts of Resurrection” such as
- · Forgiveness of sin. The death of Jesus Christ is not the end of forgiveness of sin, but his resurrection is.
- · Faith is well-founded
- · Who have died in Christ lives
8. He then spoke of the proofs/evidence of Christ’s resurrection such as:
- · His appearance to his disciples/believers. He spoke to them, was with his disciples for 40 days on earth after his resurrection, after which he departed for Heaven
- ·The empty tomb. When Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at Jesus’ tomb, it was empty
9. The first women in the world to be confronted with the fact of the empty tomb and the Risen Christ were told to do three things:
- · They were urged to believe. The thing is so staggering that it might seem beyond belief, too good to be true. The angel reminds them of the promise of Jesus, and confronts them with the empty tomb; his every word is a summons to believe.
- ·They were urged to share. When they themselves have discovered the fact of the Risen Christ, their first duty is to proclaim it and to share it with others-disciples.
- ·They were urged to rejoice. When the Risen Christ meets them he said “Greetings”; but William Barclay’s commentary says that its literal meaning is "Rejoice!"
10. How can Christ’s resurrection effect any change in our personal lives today?
- · From doubtfulness to belief.
- ·Sharing with others. Those who belief and share are very lucky.
- ·From loneliness to comfort through his death and resurrection. Like those women who went to the tomb and saw it was empty, many people today have seen an empty future. As the angel and the risen Christ comforted those women, by believing in Him we may turn from loneliness to comfort.
11. The congregation then sung “Tul Ngeilou” and the service ended with Benediction by Upa Kamsuanthang.
