Sunday Congregation Worship

The pastor welcomes the congregation for the Sunday Service and started the service with a prayer. The Worship Team led the congregation with hymns of praises to God. After which, they led the congregation in mass prayer.
This Sunday’s offering was collected to contribute towards the building of the Centenary Hall back home in Lamka, the offertory prayer was led by elder Chinsum. After which, the pastor conducted a blessing ceremony and dedication prayer for the daughter of Mr and Mrs Thuambiaklian daughter who was born on September 26, 2013. After the blessing ceremony, the local secretary, Elder, Kamsuanthang made the following announcements to inform the church members:
- How to further strengthen ties and work more closely with Brother Pauzakham who is part of Moonlight Ministry and make it more target base from next year January 1, 2014
- To replace the old P.A system
- Permission given by the church to Mr Phunggoutan for his forthcoming wedding to Miss Jamthianhoih to be held on December 21, 2013 at EBC, Vengnuam, Lamka
- The Local Committee sanctioned funds to Project Nehemiah (a project of Baptist Youth Fellowship, Delhi) to built the roof of Convention English schools in Lungthul
- Baptist Youth Fellowship (BYF) brought laurels to the Church by winning the Runners –Up position in the just concluded 2nd North-East Choral Competition held at Thyagaraj Auditorium Delhi, the local secretary announced a heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the congregation, he further announced that refreshment after the service will be served to all members of the congregation as a token of appreciation for the group.
After the announcements, Local Chairman Elder Damsawmthang once again congratulated the BYF on behalf of the congregation and also showed the cheque of Rs 200000 won by the choral group to the church members. Then, BYF Vice Chairman Thangzasiam read out the certificate of honour given to the choral member. The choral members presented the beautiful hymn “Amazing Grace” that fetch them the runners –up position.
After the song presentation, the pastor began with the Sunday message reading out passages from Matthew 10: 34-42.He brought out three main theme from the passages-
- Peace-Jesus came to bring peace with God and not peace to the Earth in another words, it is he who follows God who is worthy of his blessings than those who loves his family more than God. To follow Jesus , one should have the courage to leave behind his family members.
- To bear one’s cross-Anyone who does not take his cross and follow Jesus is not worthy of the Kingdom of God but the one who takes up the cross and follow Jesus inspite of all odds and difficulties is worthy of the Kingdom of God.
- Reward- Anyone who receives Jesus is the one who receives God and he will be rewarded.
After his message, the pastor prayed .This Sunday, election was held to elect members of the Local Elder Committee. In all 11 members were to be elected (only male members).
The (Ordained) Elders, conducted election for the Local Elder Committee. There were a list of 27 names; these names were selected on the basis of their regular contribution of 1/10th of their monthly income as offering. The pastor prayed before the election so that capable persons can be selected who will serve the church and God. The service ended with benediction by Elder Khamgoupau.
