WORSHIP WITH EVAN. N. THANGSUANPAU

EBCC Dwarka, New Delhi

10th March 2013

Theme: ‘Moreover He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find;eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.”So I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat that scroll. And He said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you.” So I ate it and it was in my mouth like honey in sweetness.’

Service began with praise and worship led by the Worship Team followed by mass prayer and a special number by the Hari Nagar Prayer Cell.

Introduction of the speaker by the Pastor.

Today’s service was a special one because we had in our midst, a man whom God had bent and broken and made anew. Evangelist N. Thangsuanpau, had been born with perfect vision and lived a normal live until he suffered a total loss of vision one morning. It must have been a painful transition, one that left him drained spiritually and physically, dragging him deeper into a sense of despair. However, in his darkness he found God’s light and in that light he found a new life, one where seeing meant believing.

As he was guided towards the pulpit by his friend, he held in his hand a thick volume of the Gospel of Mark translated in Mizo- Braille. It showed how God’s words are never too hard to come by for those who really wish to find it. He began his sermon with anecdotes about himself. One particularly striking one was the one where an old woman asked him if he felt disheartened by his impaired vision, his answer was that there were only some brief moments when he realized he was blind.

In his testimony, the Evangelist described how God spoke to him on the 9th of January, 2009 and how a while later he offered his life to the Lord at a Crusade by Evan. Timothy. The moment he let God enter his life, it transformed him into a man whose sole purpose became spreading God’s living message.

Ezekiel 37:10 “So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.”

He paused his sermon to sing a hymn for the glory of God, and he sang it with so much love that it was impossible not to see that he was at peace, with himself, with life and most importantly with God. Resuming his sermon, the Evangelist explained how God’s main purpose was to free his people from the Satan’s bondage, the way he freed Israel from Egypt.

Ezekiel 37:11 ‘Then He said to me, “Son of man, these are the bones of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost and we ourselves are cut off’

Nehemiah 1:10 “ Now these are your servants and your people whom you have redeemed by your power and by your strong hand.”

Once God had filled his heart with redeeming love, his joy could no longer be contained, he could do no less than share it with those who still lived in darkness. He recounted how difficult and perilous his journey had been, both physically and spiritually. He narrated how he had travelled to various regions within Mizoram and Churachandpur, accompanied by his youngest sister. He had journeyed on foot and braved storms to spread the Gospel because he could not bear the thought that while he found peace in God’s salvation, his brethren were still trapped in the dark. They needed someone to not only show them the path, but to guide them till they reached God’s salvation. That was the reason he came to this congregation and those that he had already visited. It was not for monetary gains, nor was it for fame, but to show us that there was a way. If a blind man like him could see it, how much more clearly would we? (for full sermon click here)
