Sunday Worship Service

The Sunday worship service was presided over by L/Upa Hausuanthang. Firstly, he welcomed the gatherings and accorded warm greetings to the congregation.
The preside invited the Praise & Worship Team to lead the congregation in singing hymns of praise. “Lei leh van in”, “Kipahna ginseng louh ka nei” and “Jesu a lawmhoih ineih dan”, were sung successively. This was followed by thanks giving in the form of mass prayer.
Offerings were collected while singing “Ka lailungsung mohna dimsa…” and Upa Thianzakham had an offertory prayer. Then, the presiders (who is also Asstt. Local Secretary) read out various wedding invitations and conveyed all members to remember in their prayers as well as to witness the ceremony.
Upa Khamgoupau, Incharge for Kristmas leh Kumthak Nektaak Saipawl Committee made announcement. He enthusiastically announced the manner in which this year’s Christmas celebration and New Year 2014 celebration. He informed the congregation about the expansion of the Committee for smooth conducting of the celebration.
Main speaker of the day Upa Thianzakham, then, occupied the pulpit and have a short sharing. He had sharing on the topic “Jesus of Nazareth or another Jesus?” and made a comparison between Jesus of Nazareth and another Jesus vividly. The speaker elucidated who Jesus of Nazareth is. Jesus of Nazareth he worthy to be praise and worship as he sacrificed his life for the downtrodden people and he dare to oppose worldly wealthy. On the other side, worshiping another Jesus is worshiping idol or Ba-al.
The speaker, then, invited the congregation to be a true follower and disciple of Jesus of Nazareth whatever it takes. He concluded his sharing by reading out the verse Mathew 8:20 which reads, “And Jesus saith unto him, the foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head”.
Then, Worship Team led the congregation in singing hymn “Hongluah in aw Jesu ka lungsung” and closed the worship service by reciting the Lord’s prayer.
