SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE, EBCC DELHI
Date: 22nd April, 2012 (Sunday)
Time: 11 A.M.
Place: EBC Church, Nasirpur, New Delhi
Led by the Worship Team, the Congregation sang the hymn “(Toupa aw) Hong Leen in”. The Local Pastor then read out Psalms 91 and had the opening prayer. This was followed by Praise & Worship through hymns like “Lunglai ah aw ka geel chiang in”, “Toupa na Siamsa Lei Mihingte”, “Israel mite na pii bang in” with the congregation having a Mass Prayer in between. Upa Thiankhanmuan had the Offertory Prayer, dedicating the offerings to the Lord.
2. The Pastor then had a dedication service for Master Thang Samuel s/o Mrs & Mr. S. Khamzading who was born on January 22, 2012 to the Lord, praying for him and his well-being.
3. Upa Tuanmuanthang then had a brief sharing. He started with a short prayer, after which he reminded the congregation of last Sunday’s bible verse “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26). He then read out Mark 16:1-5 which is about the resurrection of Jesus Christ wherein three women went to the tomb of Jesus to anoint His’ body. On their way to the tomb, they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?” (verse 3) but despite the concern, they continued on their way. When they reached the tomb, they found that the stone had been rolled away and an angel spoke to them. From this incident, the speaker said there are two things which come to mind:
- Firstly, we should have concrete and good aim, especially towards God. In the story, even though the women had concerns about who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb, they remained unperturbed, had faith that Jesus will find a way out and went on. Like them, we should have concrete aim and trust Jesus. He will find ways for us.
- Secondly, they didn’t give up and went ahead with their mission. They are not bothered about what will happen. In the Church and its Departments, in the family and in our personal lives, we should have concrete aims, pursue them and we should not give up. God will do great things for us. Like in the feeding of 4000 people, Jesus never deserts those who come to him. We can learn valuable lessons from these three women.
4. He ended his sharing with a short prayer and the congregation then sang “Nang na Omna Nuam”. The Pastor had the closing prayer and benediction.
