SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE

15th September 2013, 11 am
EBCC, DWARKA

Giving thanks for the blessings, good times, and all for the good things we receive, the Pastor

began the worship service with the reading of a Holy Scripture John 8: 34 and with words of prayer. It was then followed by singing the hymns of “Bangin ka mawh sawp siang thei?,” “Na thuakna aw ka gel zou lou,” “Lamdang lua sa in ka ding hi,” a mass prayer and singing the hymn of “Thu lamdang ka gen chim theihlouh Kalvari simthu ahi.” The offertory prayer was recited by Elder Langkham.

The child dedication ceremony of Vungnunhoih daughter of Mr and Mrs Ginlunsiam Tunglut was conducted by the pastor. He read out the Bible verse of Matthew 19: 13- 14, 13 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples’ rebuked them.14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” The importance of giving back the child to God for his own purposes is explained by the Pastor.

After the dedication of the child ceremony, the Baptist Youth Fellowship Committee members and the Zodawn Tour members’ presented a special number, “Kris sisan pha vanga gamchiam tangte”. This song is about the significance of the Blood of Jesus. We the believers got the privileges that it is through the blood of Christ that led us to the promise land. So, the privileges can be used by creating opportunities to others by small acts of kindness for our neighbours, take part in community service, fulfil responsibilities within our local congregations or contribute to the church, humanitarian efforts and so on.

Before the holy communion service, Pastor Nenglian began the message with a recapitulation of the previous sermon on salvation. Salvation is the supernatural work of God. It can be effective through faith  i.e, trust and belief. All human beings are sinners because of being the descendants of Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve formed the basis for the Christian doctrine of original sin. So, as a sinner we need salvation. To deliver from sin, the death of Jesus Christ is crucial. Christ’s death and resurrection provide justification for the believers. Justification is by faith and not through good deeds.

The importance of attaining salvation is written in the Bible. Based on Chapter 6 of the book of Roman, the Pastor explained on how one can be united with Christ. He also explained the 2 types of sacrament 1. The Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion, and 2. Water Baptism. It is through Baptism that our relationship with God started. In Roman 6: 3 it is said that, “…all of us who were baptised into Christ Jesus were baptised into his death? 4. We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” The Pastor ended his sermon with a prayer and then presided over the Holy Communion with the help of the 9 Elders of the church. In the mean time, he explained how Jesus took a loaf of bread and asked God’s blessing on it. Then, he broke it into pieces and gave it to his disciples.

After the Holy Communion was concluded, the congregation sang the hymn of “Sim lei haksat na tuang nung siah leng”. The Pastor concluded the service with a benediction.

# Please pray for the discipleship camp which is to be held between 26-28 of September 2013. And our next worship service is to be held on the same timing of 11am and the usual place EBCC Dwarka.
