THE SERMON:

Bible Verse(s) - "Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need. But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God. The widow who is really in need and left all alone puts her hope in God and continues night and day to pray and to ask God for help. But the widow who lives for pleasure is dead even while she lives. Give the people these instructions, so that no one may be open to blame. Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." I Tim 5:3-8

Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up." - Romans 15:2

CHRISTIAN FAMILY( IMMEDIATE FAMILY, RELATIVES AND NEIGHBOURS)

1. To look into the needs of your family is one of the biggest traits of a true follower. ( t. 3,4)

     - This includes the weaker and less privileged people in the family.

2. A Christian family practises worship, love and caring at home. And so The Lord is pleased.  "But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God." ( t,4)

3. Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. He has denied the faith. (t,8)

4. Such a denial weighs more than a non-believer's sin.

If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. - 1 John 3:17-18

THE SERMON

PHILADELPHIA LOVE

BIBLE verse- Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. ( Romans 12:10 )

The name of the city "PHILADELPHIA" meant " brotherly love" from the Greek word "Phileo" meaning "to love" and "adelphos" meaning "brother".

1. We must all strive to be the first to love and honour people.

2. We must practise Philadelphia love which helps us understand the love that stems out of loving Christ ( AGAPE or SELFLESS LOVE).

How to Develop such kind of love?

- Love people no matter what for we are all the children of GOD.

- We must keep in mind that we are living by HIS grace and love.

- We were separated from God but He saved us.

- It is difficult to show love to people all the time yet with God on our side, everything is possible..

MAY THE GOOD LORD HELP US TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS HE HAS LOVED US.
