Worship Service Write-up

Tuailai Day | 16 October 2022 | 11:00 AM

Pastor Lamkhanthang read out 1 Samuel 2:30 and committed the worship service to the Lord in prayer. After an uplifting praise and worship session, ordained elder Ngulminthang dedicated the offerings to the Lord.

Chairman TBYF gave the Tuailai Day message. He reminded the youths that the theme of Tuailai Day 2022 is ‘Drawing near to God in one’s youth’. He said that as a youth, this was the time to draw near to God. He also read out Tuailai Day message sent by Rev V. Thangkhanmuan, Youth Coordinator. Thereafter, brief introduction by Sisters Vunglianmawi and Ningngaihchiin, who are going abroad as missionaries followed.

Double quartet from all the various BYF area groups presented a beautiful special number.

The Speaker for the programme, Pastor Lamkhanthang read out Matthew 19: 16-26 and committed everything to the Lord in prayer. He then called upon sister Chinghoih to present a special number. Thereafter, Pastor introduced the theme for his message and  talked about the dangers of hearing the word of God and getting involved in the work of God without having a personal relationship with the Lord. He said that such people are standing at the door of salvation but would go to hell. The rich young man in the scripture portion referred above was a good man and possessed all wealth. But he had no contentment and peace of mind. In his insecurity, he came and asked Jesus what he must do to have eternal life. When Jesus told him to keep all the commandments, he replied self righteously that he had obeyed all the commandments and asked him what he still lacked. Jesus wanted him to see his sin. He told him to sell all his possessions, give it to the poor and follow Him. The young man was not ready to do that and turn away sadly. He did not attain the peace of mind he craved because he was not willing to surrender everything to Jesus.

Pastor also said that faith in God entails surrender. There is no salvation without surrender or sacrifice. It is also impossible to receive salvation with our goodness. It is only possible through Jesus Christ. Many youths came to Delhi mostly in search of material gain. If we search for wealth without God, there will always be something lacking in our life. Being good is also not enough. Our goodness apart from God is incomplete. Goodness and wealth cannot give us contentment and peace of mind. Only a personal relationship with God will give us lasting joy and peace. Pastor then exhorted the youths not to stand at the door of salvation like the rich young man but to lay aside everything and follow Jesus.

Thereafter, Dorcas quartet presented a special number. TBYF Committee presented a plaque to Pastor Lamkhanthang followed by special number from Dwarka area.

Ordained elder Songzalian closed the service with a benediction.
