BIBLE STUDY ON 1 CORINTHIANS 10:14-22 (LESSON 6)
The 2 PM Service began with praise and worship led by the Worship Team. During the praise and worship session, the congregation learnt the memory verse for the Bible Study i,e 1 Corinthians 10:21. Ordained elder Chinsum dedicated the offerings to the Lord.
Led by Ordained elder T. Thangkhosiam, election for BYF Committee members was held. Thereafter, Pastor Lamkhanthang highlighted the programme for Delhi Nurses Prayer Fellowship to be held on 26th March, 2022 at the Church. He then gave a brief report on the recently concluded EBC Pastors’ Fellowship at Lamka and shared with the congregation how he was blessed spiritually and physically.
Going into the text of the Bible Study, Pastor explained how idolatry/worship of idols is an abomination to God. Taking examples from the lives of the Israelites as recorded in the Old Testament, he warned about the dangers of idolatry and complaining and exhorted the congregation not to long for or desire things other than what God gave and to be happy in the Lord.
Pastor also explained how idol worship was a big issue in the city of Corinth. Calling the believers at Corinth `beloved’, Paul urge them to flee from idol worship. He told them that they cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons nor have fellowship with God and with demons. To do the work of God, to glorify Him and to put our full faith in Him is our duty. Failure to do so is idolatry. Lastly, Pastor urged the congregation to examine themselves whether they have given all the credit to God or to someone else.
The Worship Service ended with the Lord’s Prayer by the congregation.
