Sermon by Pastor H Biakson: (based his sermon on The Church’s Theme for the Year - Draw Nigh to God – Walk With God

Pastor read the Bible:

Amos 3:3 - Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Micah 6:8 - He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

James 4:7-10 - Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Psalm 23:6 - Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever

Highlights of the Sermon:

  • The life of the Faithful is a journey to the Promised Land. The aim of God is for us to be like His Son. We cannot and never be like Jesus, but we can grow and be more and more like Him. That is the goal of the Faithful.
  • To walk with God, we should first be in agreement with Him. This is not a compromise or a middle path, but to submit to His Will. To lead our everyday/practical life with the Will of God, every decision we make should be in agreement with God’s Will. God walks with ones who are close with Him and who longs for his companionship, who are aware that they are sinners and who wants to purify themselves, and who has Him as their Master.
  • Ultimately, one who walks with God will reach the Kingdom of God, The Promised Land.
  • There may be different reasons why we come to Delhi – some come here for employment opportunities, some for education, etc. What do we do here? Do we approach God or stray away from Him? If we stray away from Him, we cannot walk together with God.

The Worship Service ended with prayer and benediction by Elder H Zabiak
