Worship Service Write-up

Sunday Worship | First family-centric worship service | September 04, 2016. Time - 11:00am

Pastor N. Tuanglang prayed a specific ‘Pastoral Prayer’ for the congregants. This unique prayer is a bi-monthly event, at the beginning and at the end of the month.

Pastor H. Biakson briefly mentioned about the adjustments the church made, of late, due to exigencies. All this changes in the pattern of our church programme should be taken positively. Its how God leads His people. These are for the betterment of all members. Much of our experiences in life is God’s will and we should keep trusting on the Lord and we should always submit ourselves into His loving care.

He then delivered his Sermon, a Sunday School subject of lesson No.16 based on St. John 7:37-25 about ‘Streams of Living Water’. Memory verse for the day is St. John 7:37, ‘On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and shouted, “If you are thirsty, come to me and drink!”’ Here ‘living water’ Jesus referred to is about the Holy Spirit. Jesus generously invites everyone to come and share this living water. We can get the Holy Spirit if we have faith in Jesus Christ. Uptil that time, no one has been given the Holy Spirit. Our spiritual thirst cannot be filled by any other things but by the word of the Lord alone. We need to come to Jesus Christ to have this living water.

Pastor then referred to a Scripture portion from St. Luke 23 about two other people who were also crucified on the Cross by the sides of Jesus. One of the criminals insulted Jesus while the other person cautioned him not to mock Jesus Christ. He begged Jesus to remember him when He comes into power. Jesus straightforward replied to him and assured him that he will be with Him in Paradise.

The criminal by the side of Jesus who believed in Him, in fact was helpless. He can’t save himself. He is awaiting for the punishment for his sins. However, God’s grace is bountiful. Even in the very moment of death, God’s mercy never fails. We also should come to Jesus Christ for this living water. There is always Hope against Hope in Jesus Christ. Let’s come to Him. Its not late, yet.
