CHRISTMAS EVE & CAROL
6:30pm : December 24, 2015
Pastor Biakson hosted the programme and welcomed the congregations. He opened the programme with a prayer.
This was followed by Praise and Worship time led by Worship Team.
Deacon Ngulminthang took time for the sharing.
To start, Deacon gave a brief introduction and report of his recent visit of home town. As the society is infested with so many problems, the mind and body gets weaken. In such situation, people should have Christmas Spirit! Either in the Church or in the society, Christmas Spirit should ignite us. We lack this Christmas Spirit, so we fails to get intimacy with the Lord.
Phillipians 2:3-8 for understanding and knowing what Christmas Spirit is! As Christ humble Himself and came to the world to save us, so also, we should humble ourself. The Bible teaches us to be humble, and so we should be humble in our life. Christmas is the Spirit of humility as Christ had a humble beginning from the manger. Using the Gospel which brings us thus far and with the Spirit of humility, let us celebrate Christmas.
When EBCC Delhi first celebrated Christmas in 1999, Pu Rouchunga said in his message, “follow the star”. We should follow this star while celebrating Christmas. In Luke 2:15, we find Simeon and Anna waiting, patiently and with eagerness, to see the Lord Jesus, and when they saw the Lord, they were overjoyed. With such an extent they expressed after seeing the Lord, we should also try seeing and appreciating Lord Christ Jesus. This will make us relax our mind, body and soul, also for the healing of our land.
If we open our inner mind, other assets are in no need. Matt. 13:44-46. As found in this Bible verse, Heaven is such an asset to strive for and to buy it after selling all our wealth. Paul said, “I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord” (Phil. 3:8). To meet and really see Jesus Christ, we should keep away all other things that stand our way; a sacrifice from our side is needed!
After the sharing, Pastor Nenglian exhorted the Carol party of the Baptist Youth Fellowship (BYF) and prayed for them.
Dinner followed in the Church premises and soon the Carol party went out in fully packed bus.
CHRISTMAS CAROL - 2015:
Two places were visited by the Carol party.
1) Visit to Delhi Community Church, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.
This Church was looked after by Pastor Angam who minister and works among the slum dwellers. In this visit, Mr. Siam Tunglut, Vice-Chairman, BYF and Ms. Maman Guite hosted the programme. A short sharing by Biakkim Guite about Christmas. A cosy programme with the Church members was spent there. Christmas Gifts were presented to the Church and Pastor Biakson had a prayer for the closing pragramme.
2) Visit to Moonlight Ministry, Sanggam Vihar, New Delhi:
After the visit to Delhi Community Church, the Carol Party soon headed towards Moonlight Ministry where Evan. Paul Pauzakham minister and works among the Muslims. The programme was hosted by Mr. Siam Tunglut; the Carol Party had spent a blessed programme together with some members present there for quite sometime. Christmas Gifts were present to this Ministry. Evan. Paul closed the programme with prayer for the Carol members.
After this programme, the Carol party headed for their house at late night by the same bus; all merry and with much experience to share.
