Brief Study on the Book of Genesis 1 and 2 in relation to Man as Keepers/ Stewards
~ Pastor Thuamminlian
The book of Genesis deals with creation. God has put in man the knowledge of His existence and therefore the existence of God is not explained. Verse 5 separation of darkness and light, vs.6 to vs.8 separation of the sky and waters, vs.9 to vs.13 creation of dry land and filling this created space from day four on, the Sun and Moon on day four, filling the water with life on day five, land creatures on day six, vs.27 creation of man in the likeness of God.
Genesis 2:8 talks about the placement of man in the Garden of Eden and the tree of knowledge. In Genesis 2:15, God's purpose of man in Eden is brought out: “to work it and take care of it”. Man failing to keep the will of God brought sin into this world. The seriousness of us as keepers/stewards needs to be realized. God placed Adam in the Garden of Eden; where does God place you today? Keepers of what does God want us to be? What is important is that we must realize our duty and be faithful as keepers/stewards of the garden(s) that God placed us in. God put us all in different gardens. To worship is to faithfully perform our duties and keep guard of our identity.
We must all realize our duty and work faithfully in the garden we are placed in so that our performance may be an acceptable worship to God.
