TESTIMONIAL SHARING FROM THE CAMPER’S:

1. Pa Nengzanang Vualnam – He started off by greeting the congregation and that he felt grateful and gave thanks to the Lord to have gotten this opportunity to stand and share in front of the congregation. He said that the campers were blessed to get this opportunity and that we should use make the most of it. Though the result may not be as quick as wanted that is why on behalf of all the campers, I request all our family members to continue to pray for us and to be patient with us in our journey to recovery. He read out the following verses from the Bible and said that these verses made him think: Isaiah 53: 1-7, Psalms 51:10-12, Psalms 37:5. During the camp the speaker talked about sins that were committed from the time of Adam and that Jesus had died for our sins of the past present and even the future. He even talked about how salvation could be mistaken for something else. Like for example, once a lady was asked to give her testimony. To which she said that the pastor touched my head and prayed that her name was to be written in the book of life then and there itself, which she mistook for salvation. So as the sessions went by the speaker kept on making alter calls but on the 3 rd day I couldn’t resist myself thinking this could be my last chance, so without thinking any further I finally raised my hand and went forward with it.

2. Pa Jose Thawnkhanlian – Firstly he greeted the congregation and thanked the camp committee to organise this camp. In 1988, I attended my first ever camp and attended many other camps as the time went by. But in all those years there was this bible verse which took my particular interest. It was 2 Corinthians 15:2 “By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.” But it was in this camp, that all my doubts and confusions became clear regarding the two phrases. It felt as though a huge burden had been lifted off my shoulders.

3. Pa Lamthianmuan – Firstly, he thanked the Lord for giving the honour and opportunity to share his testimony. The speaker gave a detailed analysis of our sins and God’s love from the very beginning one by one which made it crystal clear. He felt very blessed to have been a part of this camp. He then read out John 8: 34. This salvation and rebirth that Jesus talks about is unachievable and unattainable without putting faith in Jesus Christ himself. This became very clear to me in this camp. He concluded his testimonial sharing with a prayer.

4. Pa Robert Suanlian – Firstly, he greeted the congregation and thanked the Lord. He then read out from the Bible Romans 5: 5, 6 & 8. He then started off by saying that he was known as a ‘Good Boy’ throughout his life which made it difficult for him to see his true self because he always thought that it was enough for salvation. Instead it had been a hindrance for salvation all along. But during these 3 days of the camp, the detailed explanation given by the speaker on how Jesus Christ gave himself up for our sins and that by faith alone it can be achieved and that it was given to us not because we were worthy but solely because God loved us. He sent his only son to die for the sins that he did not even commit. So it was on their way back from the camp that he decided to commit to the Lord. He was happy that this camp came as a blessing and thanked the organisers for creating an opportunity like this.

5. Pa Kamlalven Tonsing – He thanked the Lord for making a way to attend the camp from his busy schedule at work. He said that he had been living his life in camps due to his work but this camp was different from the camps that he had been in. This camp became the place where he met with the Lord which is why this camp became a blessing for him indeed. The way the speaker preached about the ‘SINS- the origin and the types’ in detail made it simple and clear. While the speaker was preaching about the TEN COMMANDMENTS it made him realise how he had failed as a follower. He went on to add that in the end it all came down to the fact that no amount of one’s good deeds would help in receiving salvation nor would any amount of one’s sins could hold them from receiving this salvation.
