Celebration of New Year 2016

The New Year Worship service started at 3:00 PM with Pastor Biakson reading from the Scripture and prayer. The Worship team led the congregation in praise & worship and mass prayer. Upa Thangkhosiam made the offertory prayer and there were special numbers from TBSUC, BYF, Miss Janeth and Pastor Biakson. The New Year message was delivered by Pastor Nenglian on the topic “To be a blessing” and the worship was closed with a benediction by Upa B. Langkham.
Pastor Nenglian based his sermon on II Tim. 2:15 & Joshua 1:9 and summary of the Pastor’s sermon is as follows:
God has blessed us in abundance and we however tend to worry about our problems instead of the plentiful blessings we have been receiving from the Lord. And sometimes our faith was put to the test when we do not receive our wishes and desires sooner. Amidst our many wishes, it is important that we walk a step further beyond these desires and allow ourselves to be used by God to be a blessing to others. For this, we need to develop the following 4 attributes viz., (i) Use the truth truthfully, (ii) Strive to be God’s approved worker (iii) Persevere to learn and work to the fullest extent and (iv) Give ourselves to the Lord. The Lord has brought us into a new year with a specific purpose. To be a blessing, we must commit ourselves to the mighty hands of the Lord and may this be our prayer for the new year - whatever comes onto us be with Your approval and do not let anything come onto us without Your approval.
