Worship Service Write-up
November 01, 2015 Sunday Worship Service| MISSIONS SUNDAY

We cried as we went out to plant our seeds. Now we will celebrate and shout as we bring in the crops.” ~Psalms 126:5

Morning Worship Service |Time: 11.00 am
Pa Vumsuan, Chairman-TBMC, Welcome the congregants and made brief introduction of Rev. Malcolm Eberhard, an Australian national and the speaker for today’s worship service. Paite shawl and tie were gifted to him as a token of love. He then went on with the Missionary Fields report from: Nepal, Karbi Anglong, Manipur and Dhemaji with the help of slide shows through a projector.
Rev. Malcolm introduced himself briefly and made his sermon based on the scripture portion of Luke 18:35 - 19:10 which was about the healing of a blind beggar and the transformation of Zacchaeus, the chief tax collector, both by Jesus Christ while on His way between Nazereth and Jericho. The first character is of a blind beggar, an oppressed class in the society, who stood in public places having no other means of livelihood than begging. Jesus healed him from his blindness and freed him from dependency. The second character is about a tax collector who belonged to a wealthy/ rulling class. When he heard about the coming of Jesus, he climbed up a tree on the road-side desiring to see Jesus. His meeting with Jesus transformed his life – once a proud and corrupt officer now became an honest and humble person. Transformation can be achieved only by the grace of God which is a free gift for us, but it costs God very dearly. Reverend concluded his sermon with a heart-touching story of Scottish soldiers captured by the Japanese soldiers during the World War II. At the end of the war when the prisoners were released, they had no hatred towards their captors.
Pastor V. Nenglian then made a Pastoral Prayer for the congregants as was usually done on every first Sundays of a month.

Evening Worship Service |Time: 4.00 pm
Pastor V. Nenglian made a summary of the Sermon of the morning worship service and also reproduced in brief the report made by the Tualsung Baptist Missions Committee (TBMC) earlier. He then made a Pastoral Prayer for the congregants as was usually done on every first Sundays of a month.
Report from the Moonlight Ministry was made by Evan. Paul Pauzakham, their Director. He mentioned how his ministry, based on the scripture portion from Matt. 5:14 ‘You are like light for the whole world’ was established, grew and expanded from a very humble beginning. The ministry based only on faith, hope and a meager sum of Rs.1000/- only, way back in 2008. He elaborated the calling he received for the ministry. He compares himself with the moon. The moon has no light of its own but reflects the light it received from the sun. He has nothing in himself but just that he transmits whatever he receives from the Lord to the unbelievers. The Ministry has 10 Prayer support team members who are acting like the managing board.
He started his ministry with a secular approach like Spoken English Course, Guiter Class, Tuition class, etc. amongst the Muslims. Later, he balanced those classes with counseling and discourse on some simple Christian faith. As time passed, he faced obstacles financially and in balancing the Spoken English course with sharing the Gospel. He is now convinced that real success in our purpose comes only after we sacrificed things that we hold too dearly. The moment he focused on the Gospel he began to win lost souls. His ministry is expanding as he received sponsors from various sources. He also thanked EBCC Delhi, Dwarka, for extending financial support. The ministry is not free from problems. One big challenge they are facing currently is that of cultural differences. They are looking out for one translator and one local evangelist.
Based on the scripture portion from Luke 10:25-37, he gave a short sharing on ‘The Good Samaritan.’ Once a man going down from Jerusalem to Jericho was waylaid by robbers. He was left half dead and unconscious. Meanwhile a priest and a Levi both came across this helpless travel but ignored him. Later, a Samaritan also came travelling that way and when he saw that man, he felt sorry for him. He treated his wounds and take care of him.
He concluded this story by adding that like this Samaritan we should never pull back our hands, rather we should stretched our hands out to help others. Later BYF combine team of JNU and Vasant Areas presented a melodious choir.
