SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE
25 January 2015

It was at eleven the senior Pastor of the church, V.Nenglian came up to the podium and greeted the holy gathering by reading verses from Jeremiah 33. His time was concluded with a prayer to dedicate the whole worship service into God's hand.

The worship team then took their time to lead the gathering in singing praises to the Lord which was followed by a mass prayer. Upa Chinsum made the offertory prayer.

Induction of new members into the church was conducted by the local secretary, TBSUC and the pastor gave a word of thanksgiving to God for the new members inducted to the family and prayed for the Holy Spirit to guide them in their ways.

Commissioning service of the fifteen newly elected committee members of the BYF was presided over by the pastor. He advised and challenged the new members by reading scripture portion from 2 Timothy 2:4-7 and then prayed for them so that God would give them the wisdom and strength to carry on the work entrusted to them.

SERMON
Pastor H.Biakson took his time greeting the gathering and began his sermon after praying for God's presence throughout the sermon. The whole sermon centered around the divine purpose of family and why God had created it in the first place.

GOD CREATED FAMILY AND HE CREATED IT FOR HIMSELF

After reading verses from the Bible, the pastor highlighted that God had created everything and that everything is created in Him. He continued to explain, through the verses, that He created everything for Himself, and that He created them to serve His purpose. 'God felt the need for family and He, for that reason, created family that would serve His Divine purpose,' the pastor said.
*Colossians 1: 16,17 for by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: and he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
*Proverbs 16:4 The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

The pastor then continued his sermon citing several verses from the Bible( Gen 1:26-28; Gen 2:18,21-24; Mark 10:2-9; Mal 2:15) to stress on the value of family.

GOD CREATED THE FAMILY AND HE HAS A DIVINE PURPOSE FOR IT

'God created family for the Divine purpose of bringing revival to the nations', the pastor continued. He talked on how God has his plan of reviving the family which would lead to a larger revival in the society and finally to the whole nations.

The pastor went on to point out the imminent threats of Satan's evil design that often led to the downfall of the family. 'Adam's family was one which was disrupted by the doings of Satan,' he said.

GOD'S SCHEME OF REVIVAL THROUGH FAMILY AT DIFFERENT TIMES IN HISTORY

--Victory of women's offspring over Satan
*Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."

--Noah's family
*Genesis 9

-- Abraham's family
*Genesis 12:1-9

-- David's family
*2 Sam 7:12; 22:51

The pastor challenged the gathering to take part in God's mission of reviving the nation through the revival of each one in the congregation.

PRIORITY SETTING

*(Colossians 1:16; 3:18-25)

-God(First)
-Family(Second)
-Work(Third)

'Your work and family are given to you by God', the pastor went on. He encouraged the gathering to always put God at the first place and that everything else would fall into place from there on.

*(I Samuel 30: 1-6)
The pastor continued his sermon explaining how David had made the wrong decision in putting all of his priorities to fight the Philistines which resulted to the devastating invasion from the Amalekites. The Amalekites had attacked Negiv and Ziglag and burnt the villages down while David and his soldiers were away invading the Philistines. They captured and took away David's family members because they were left unguarded.

HOPE OF SALVATION AND REVIVAL FOR THE BROKEN

*(I Samuel 30:8)
David inquired of the Lord: “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?”. The Lord told David, “Pursue them! You will definitely overtake them and rescue the captives".

The pastor finally concluded his sermon pointing out how God had given salvation and revival to David's household and went on to challenge the gathering to set new priorities which would lead to the revival of every family.

POINTS TO PONDER

--God worked His Divine plan of revival through families. e.g., Adam & Eves, Noah, Abraham, David, and more.
--Joshua 14:15(But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”)
--Isaiah 38:1 (This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.)

Senior pastor V.Nenglian led a mass prayer after he had shared on the persisting incidents of Christian persecution and urged everyone to continue to pray for India. The national Anthem was sung in honor of India's Republic day. Upa Khamgoupau closed the day's worship service with a word of prayer after singing another hymn of praise.
