Worship Service Write-up

Tuailai Day 2014- Day 2

BAPTIST YOUTH FELLOWSHIP DAY II
Delhi EBCC, Dwarka

Sunday, 19 October 2014

The second day of the Baptist Youth Day was again split into two sessions. The first session was a normal worship service and the second session was where all the fun things happened.

Session 1 - 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM (approx.)

S Lianlalmuan was the coordinator for the session. He welcomed everybody who had come to take part in the second day of the Youth Day celebration. Then, came the usual Praise and Worship session led by the Worship Team, but what was slightly different about today’s praise and worship today was that there was a house band accompanying it. Then, Upa Thiankhanmuan asked for the Lord’s blessing the offertories of the day. After that, there was a short message from Mr. Thangzasiam, Chairman BYF followed by a beautiful choir presentation from BYF.

After that, there was a special request for the Tuailailai Band to perform once again. The Tuailailai Band consisted of the local elders of the church. They performed their hit number once again much to the delight of the entire congregation.

Thereafter, Pastor delivered the Lord’s message for the day. His message was based on the 2 Corinthians 2:15. The pastor explained what the topic for the day ‘Being a Sweet Aroma for Christ’ means. He explained that, in olden times when the Romans returned home victorious from a battle, they held a victory procession led by the senate, then the generals and the common soldiers, and during that procession, the entire population came out burning incense so that their sweet fragrances filled the air. The Pastor said that Paul was thinking of this beautiful scene when he was talking about being a sweet aroma for Christ. He wanted the youths of today to be the sweet aroma/fragrance of Christ that others can smell. He then talked about why it is necessary to be so and the challenges that faces the youths of today. The challenges being, Individualism, wanting to set one’s identity; Identify Issue, feeling insecure about one’s identity; Materialism, pining for wealth and luxurious things, fashion, secularism, godlessness and morality.

And then the Election Commission took over the general election of the BYF Committee members for the next term. Then, the Worship Team led the congregation into a last round for praise and worship for the session. After that, Upa B Langkham closed the session with a prayer.

Session 2 - Prize Distribution - 2:00 PM

The second session for the day started at 2:00 PM. After a bout of praise and worship, the entire session was coordinated by the Program Department who oversaw the prize distribution. Video clips from each area were shown between each alternate program item in the session. There were also short speeches from 3 selected persons from the audience. In the Quiz competition, R.K. Puram won followed by JNU and Nanakpura and thirdly Ber Sarai and Dwarka. Munirka won the Panel Decoration competition, with Ber Sarai and RK Puram coming to a close second and third respectively. In Video Clip, JNU and Vasant Area won with Munirka and Nanakpura, Madan Gir and Push Vihar respectively winning second and third places. While Nanakpura won the Quartet, Munirka and Push Vihar shared the second place and Ber Sarai coming third in it. After that, the Worship Team took over and the session lasted till the wee hours of the evening. Finally, Upa Khamgoupau closed the session with a prayer to the Lord. And with that, the Baptist Youth Day for the year came to a close.
