Worship Service Write-up

Youth-Centric Sunday Worship | February 05, 2017

Time: 02.00 pm

Pastor H. Biakson read a scripture portion from St. John 15 on ‘Jesus is the true vine.’ He briefly taught on how we can lead a fruitful life by coming to Jesus Christ. He is the sole foundation to have an abundant life. If someone has gone astray from the right path, one has the opportunity to return to Him because it is not yet too late. Let’s all come back to Jesus, our Lord. Pastor then prayed ‘Pastoral Prayer’ for the congregants.

Pastor acknowledged first timers and welcome them. He delivered short sermon on the topic ‘Importance of unceasing prayer with true faith,’ based on the Scripture Col 4:2, St. Luke 18:1-8. He mentioned that some members of this church already experienced the need to pray constantly and how powerful a prayer can be. One may have talents, one may be a good singer or a preacher but one cannot become a powerful singer or preacher without a prayerful life. We can devote our time for the service of God but to be fruitful we need to pray to God, for prayer is our weapon. Pastor cites a passage from the Bible about ‘a widow and a judge.’ The never-giving-up spirit of the widow moves the judge. Even in the present struggles of the Tribal of Manipur, we should not miss our fight for justice in our prayers. If we turn to the Lord, He can always deliver justice for His glory.

Pastor briefly elaborated on why we need to pray more than once. Constantly praying to God keeps our attention focused on God. Having to wait teaches us how to check about ourselves. Praying persistently tests our desires and makes us examine ourselves what we really want. It also tests our priority. When our priorities are right God answers our prayers.

Rounds of mass prayer focusing on the ensuing Youth Camp scheduled for Feb 15-18, 2017 was held. These rounds of prayer centre on to-be campers, the speaker, the Camp-site and all those who will directly involve in it. Senior Pastor N. Tuanglang also extends  warm invitation to the youths for enrolling in this camping. This kind of opportunity is very rare and one should not miss it.

BYF Primary Election for the year 2017-18 is also held.
