Worship Service Write-up

YOUTH WORSHIP SERVICE | 4 DECEMBER 2016

Speaker: Pastor Biakson

Topic: Back to Bethlehem (Ruth chapter 1)

During the famine of Bethlehem, a man named Elimelech and his wife, Naomi with their two sons went to live in the land of Moab hoping to lead a better life. Bethlehem means house of bread or house of David. Moab is not a land of believers. There, Naomi’s husband and her two sons died. The land where they had Hope brought great sorrows for Naomi’s and her two daughters in law. Naomi decided to return to Bethlehem as she had heard the Lord had visited his people by providing abundant crops. When Naomi and her daughters in law arrived in Bethlehem, it was the time for barley harvest.

Things to ponder: How many times have we run away from our Bethlehem, the land where there is the bread of life, full of spiritual abundance and life to the land of Moab to live with nonbelievers in search for a better, convenient life and lead an ungodly, corrupt life? Like Naomi let us return to Bethlehem where it is overflowing with the love of god and the greatness of God never fails instead of dwelling in a place of spiritual dryness and darkness. Let us all go back to Bethlehem.
