Worship Service Write-up

Family-Centric Service on 16th October 2016

The Pastor welcomed the congregation and read out a word of God from Psalm 31:15-16. It was followed with praise and worship led by the worship team which concluded with an offertory prayer by Deacon Thiankhanmuan.

The pastor then delivered the sermon on the topic :

"HIHNA KITHEIHCHETNA LEH KEPBITNA" (IDENTITY- REALIZATION AND SAFE KEEPING)

He read out some selected portions from the Bible- Revelations 5:8, Deuteronomy 11:16-17, Gen.46:27, Exodus 12:37 and Deuteronomy 6:5-9.

A. LET's QUESTION OURSELVES :

Q 1. If you were asked to choose for yourself your own tribe and dialect before you were born, would you still choose the same one?

Q 2. Who do you think made all these different tribes and dialects?

Q 3. would these tribes and dialects end along with the end of the world?

B. PONDER UPON :

1. The different tribes of the world have been made for a purpose and would someday glorify the maker when we get to heaven.(Rev.5:8)

2. What did you do to God's given clan and dialect?

3. Jesus is not only interested with the spiritual aspect of a human being but also with the physical aspects of a human being.(Matt.15:22-28)

C. ALARMING :

1. If things progress at this rate, then 20 years down the line our future generation would be completely forgetting their own dialect. This would lead to them not wanting to meet with their relatives as they would no longer understand what their Grandparents and others would try to tell them. Therefore would be alienated from their own tribe.

2.They would also forget their own customs and cultures. They will feel less comfortable with their own tribe and dialect and more comfortable with people of the same dialect and if we are unlucky we might even loose their spiritual being in the process of development.

D. THAT IS WHY :

1.Let us take that extra step further in restoring our customs and dialects at home and even at Sunday Schools by promoting more of our own dialects and cultures. Let us look at how the Israelites managed to restore their cultures and dialects even when they were living in a foreign land and how they all (around 15 lakhs) were able to escape that land.

a. It was because of the sincerity and righteousness towards their laws and rituals.(Gen.46:27; Exodus 12:37)

b. They had lived in Egypt for about 430 yrs.(Exodus 12:40)

c. The Israelites had thoroughly taught their kids- their customs, rituals, and how God delivered them from Egypt. (Deuteronomy 6:5-9)

2. God is interested in the different tribes of people having different dialects. He has a plan/ purpose for these dialect and different tribes on earth as well as in Heaven so we should never neglect/avoid or even despise them. Let us be careful with matters like these as we would be judged based on our actions at the time of judgement. So neglecting and despising your own culture and dialect would only mean that you are already detesting the ways/will of God- the one who made these different tribes and dialects and therefore the consequences might not be very favorable for the longer run. (Rev.22:12)

After the sermon the Worship team led the praise and worship which was concluded with a benedictory prayer by Deacon H.Paukhogin.
