Message of the Holy Communion

This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me,” [1 Corinthians 11:24] said Jesus Christ. At every good feeling, at every difficult moment, for every blessing and in every sad misfortune, we must remember Jesus Christ. We must not forget the agony of Jesus at Gethsemane, where he was all by his lonesome bearing the weight of the sins of the world, where he kneeled taking his burden to the Father but receiving no consolation at all. We must not forget his courage too at his rising to his feet, and turning to face what lay ahead. We must not forget that he first loved us [1 John 4:19], and that his love for us is sacrificial, supreme and eternal.

The significance of Calvary is that it was the place of
1) Propitiation [Romans 3:25],
2) Redemption [Galatians 3:13,14; Romans 3:24],
3) Reconciliation [Romans 5:10,11; 1 Corinthians 5:19],
4) Justification [Romans 3:24; Romans 5:1], and,
5) Vicarious Substitution [1 Peter 2:24; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Isaiah 53:4-6].

Jesus Christ asked us to remember him and the suffering he endured at Calvary, because all those came to pass because of his love for us.
