Worship Service Write-up

Worship service - 21 August 2016

Worship service starts at exactly 11AM with the worship team and the singing of hymns.

The day's offering was consecrated with a prayer by Upa Ngulminthang.

Making a brief announcement about the resolution of the TBSUC meeting held on 20.8.2016, Upa Kamsuanthang informs the gathering that from September the worship service would be held into family focused service at 11 AM and youth focused service at 2 PM.

Senior Pastor Tuanglang welcomed the new guests who joined the service. After which, he introduced Reverend N.Vungzasin (retired Pastor) as guest speaker the worship service.

Reverend N.Vungzasin starts his speech with some anecdotes about his childhood experiences. Mentioning about how important this speech maybe to him since it may be his last. He quotes with,"I hope that my words have an effect on everyone who has heard it. And that they know I am a man of Christ."

He mentions the verse 1 Kings 17:3 and Deuteronomy 11:16 and compares them to the events in his own personal life. For him there were thoughts which go within his hand and he can only recall how gracious God is for bringing him from a small village to a city like Delhi, which proves more and more the wondrous nature of God.

God's constant reminder in both the verses were "Be Careful"- that is how God continuously warns us. When many are compromising the Lord's commands, Elijah had warned the people to not act in such sinful ways. Same goes for how in our lives there will be parts where we are down and out of life with bad experiences but we should not compromise our faith in the Lord. For even worrying a bit about things we are not powerful enough to change them on our own unless we ask God for help. He will deliver us from our bad experiences if we TRUST IN HIM.

The reverend explains how his growing up years were filled with hardships but he believed that God had made him go through these worst times to show that his life is more than his sufferings and that pretty soon, it would be better and he'd be able to appreciate the goodness even more. Just like how Elijah had to go through such hardships (1 Kings 17), he is being trained to be a better servant of God. To be a better human being and a Christian. And to show the world that God is indeed worthy of worship and praise, that God loves and will deliver from hardships through faith in HIM.

He explains how we as mere mortals are fooling one another and eventually ourselves. But if we say we are God's children then we should not compromise our faith and follow the ways of the world but live by Jesus's ways and remember the gracious blessings bestowed upon by our Father in heaven who is waiting for us.

We should always remember the answer to these questions:-

  1. Why has God led me here?
  2. What is my real purpose and duty of a man in life?

The Reverend shares his experience by telling the congregants, "Because I am God's child that I am fearless. Even when I live on a meager income and a not so bright future, I can still tell you how much God has given me and that is how I see. My family and I have been blessed beyond our imagination only with the grace of God”.

The Reverend closes his speech with a prayer of thanks.

The Worship team leads the last song for today's morning service

The congregation is blessed with benediction by Upa Khamgoupau.
